Sen. Vickie Sawyer has received the endorsement of the State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC).

Representing over 46,000 state employees and retirees, SEANC advocates for the rights, pay, retirement, and health plans of those who dedicate their careers to serving the State of North Carolina.

“State employees are the most valuable resource that make our government work efficiently and effectively for the people of North Carolina,” said Sawyer. “I’m proud to be endorsed by the State Employees Association of North Carolina and look forward to our continued collaboration to take care of active and retired public servants — ensuring taxpayers are getting optimal service when interfacing with state agencies.”

A Republican who represents the 37th Senate District, Sawyer is running for a fourth term in the in the November 5 general election. 

SEANC’s endorsement is part of a bipartisan slate of candidates that reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting those who stand up for the interests of state employees. In state House races, SEANC made 85 endorsements, including 46 for Republicans and 39 for Democrats. In the Senate, SEANC endorsed 35 candidates, with 19 Republicans and 16 Democrats receiving support.

“We will have members volunteering in all of these races all over the state,” said Ardis Watkins, SEANC executive director. “The enthusiasm we are hearing from our members about getting involved in elections this year is off the charts.”
