A suspect in an armed robbery in Georgia was apprehended by Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Friday following a vehicle pursuit on Interstate 77.
Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Patrick Terrell Brown, 45, of Harrisburg, Pa., in a news release Monday afternoon.
On Friday, ICSO deputies were alerted by other agencies that a possible suspect vehicle in a North Georgia robbery was entering the county, Campbell said.
Deputies assigned to the ICSO Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team quickly located a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description traveling northbound on Interstate 77, according to the news release.
When deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the suspect attempted to flee, Campbell said. The pursuit came to an end when one of the vehicle’s tires deflated, forcing the suspect to stop.
The suspect, later identified as Brown, exited through the window and attempted to run away. However, deputies quickly apprehended the suspect.
A search of the suspect and vehicle revealed an undisclosed amount of cash, believed to be connected to the North Georgia armed robbery, according to the news release.
Brown was charged with being a fugitive from justice, felony flee or elude arrest in a motor vehicle, misdemeanor resist or delay an officer, misdemeanor reckless driving and speeding, misdemeanor fail to stop for a siren.
Brown was arrested and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was issued a $75,000 bond.
