A western Iredell County man faces 10 felony charges related to the possession of child sexual exploitation material following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Robert Clark Taylor, 42, of 141 Gemstone Drive, Statesville, in a news release Tuesday.
The ICSO began investigating on May 31 after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about possible child sexual exploitation material being in possession of an individual in Iredell County.
The case was assigned to ICSO Special Victims Unit Detective C. James, who identified Taylor as a suspect, according to the news release.
As part of the investigation, Detective James conducted interviews and executed search warrants before obtaining warrants charging Taylor with 10 counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Taylor was arrested on Friday, August 16. He was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where Magistrate Thompson set his bond at $500,000.
