The Town of Mooresville recently announced the selection of Iredell County native Erika Martin as the director of Planning & Community Development.
Martin, who recently held the position of interim director of Planning & Community Development, will begin her role as Director immediately.
“The town’s future is in good hands with Erika in this role,” said Assistant Town Manager Sherisha Hills. “Erika’s professionalism, proactive approach to solving issues, her years of experience, and the respect she has from her staff and peers has proven to us that she has the fortitude and passion to help move our town forward in the right direction.”
Martin joined the Town of Mooresville in January of 2019 as a transportation planner. She then transitioned to assistant director of Planning & Community Development before taking on the duties of interim director. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role from not only her service at the Town of Mooresville, but also her previous service with other North Carolina municipalities, totaling 19 years.
Martin holds a B.S. in Community and Regional Planning from Appalachian State University.
She was awesome when we tried to get variance. She went to bat for the builder and the homeowner. She’ll be a great addition to the planning and community development. Thank you, Erika, for all you do.
