This year, more than ever, Toys For Tots organizers need the community’s help.

With the recent devastation in Western North Carolina, collection efforts have been impacted in surrounding areas and other parts of the state.

A community event will be held in Downtown Mooresville on Sunday, December 8, from 12 to 4 p.m. There will be a ride-in, drive-in, cruise-in event with trophies awarded for “Best of Show” as well as live music by ShalaLa. There will be appearances by former NASCAR Cup winner Jeremy Mayfield and Grand National Super Stars. Visit with Santa and help support local businesses.

Attendees will be greeted by the local Toys For Tots coordinator and Marine Corps volunteers who will collect your unwrapped toy or donation to help disadvantaged children experience the joy of Christmas. You can also drop off for your toy through December 12 at participating locations like Richards Home for Veterans, 158 on Main, Murto Made, LKN Patio & Game and other locations with Toys For Tots collection boxes.
