A Mooresville man faces a felony gun charge after a vehicle he was traveling in was stopped by a Troutman Police Department officer.
The TPD announced the arrest of Cordara Desmin Moore, 36, of Criklewood Lane, Mooresville, in a news release.
After stopping a Nissan Altima for a traffic violation on March 25, officers approached the vehicle and smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car, police said.
The officers then asked the occupants to exit the vehicle so a probable cause search could be conducted, according to the news release. While performing a pat down of Moore, officers discovered a revolver concealed in the front of his pants, according to the news release.
The search of the vehicle led to the seizure of a small amount of marijuana, police said.
According to the TPD, Moore is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms. He was placed under arrest for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, felony carrying a concealed weapon, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Moore was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. A magistrate set his bond at $30,000.
