The Troutman Police Department is asking the public to help locate an individual wanted on drug charges.

The TPD requests anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jerome Cunningham, 40, of Charlotte to call (704) 528-7610.

On June 13, officers located a vehicle involved in a domestic violence incident on Weymouth Avenue and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Charlotte Highway and the Interstate 77 south on-ramp, according to a TPD news release.

Cunningham, who was identified as the suspect in the domestic violence incident, was a passenger in the vehicle, police said.

The suspect exited the car and ran from officers, according to the news release.

After officers lost sight of Cunningham in a wooded area, a TPD K-9 Unit attempted to track the suspect. However, after tracking for an extended period of time, the K-9 Unit was unable to locate the suspect and the search was terminated.

Officers seized 44.10 grams of MDMA and 15.38 grams of marijuana that reportedly belonged to Cunningham from the vehicle, according to the news release.

The TPD has obtained warrants for Cunningham’s arrest.
