Trinity Episcopal Church’s senior youth group recently organized a fundraising event to furnish one of four tiny homes generously donated to Fifth Street Ministries by Purple Heart Homes.

The event was aimed to gather community support and raise funds for essential furnishings. The youth created a menu of Trinity Church casserole, Caesar salad, and homemade banana pudding.

The youth prepared the meal, served over 100 people and surpassed their fundraising goal.

“It is important that we raise money for organizations like Fifth Street Ministries for veterans, so we can show our respect for what they have done so we can live freely. It is the least we can do to honor them for their service,” said Ashley French, 15.

“Trinity has been a string supporter of Fifth Street Ministries since its beginnings. I grew up volunteering in different ways there. It has been wonderful to help organize such an important fundraiser for Fifth Street and Purple Heart Homes. Our veterans really need our support,” added Emma Peters, 16.

Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 801 Henkel Road in Statesville.
