Two individuals face felony charges after being apprehended by Mooresville police officers on Sunday morning following a chase along Interstate 77.

The Mooresville Police Department announced the arrests of Christian Jose Dos Santos, 20 of Charlotte and Skylar Raine Wilson, 18, of Fort Mill, S.C., in a news release.

About 10:21 a.m. on Sunday, MPD officers received an Automatic License Plate Reader alert about a stolen motor vehicle traveling on Highway 150, police said.

Officers located the vehicle near Bluefield Road and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle fled, according to the news release.

Officers pursued the vehicle on I-77 southbound to Exit 9A/Remount Road area. One suspect fled the stopped vehicle on foot and was quickly apprehended by officers.

The passenger, Wilson, was served with an arrest warrant charging her with common law robbery in Mecklenburg County. She was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.

The driver, Dos Santos, was charged with felony flee to elude, felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, two counts of misdemeanor hit and run, misdemeanor careless and reckless driving, and misdemeanor driving without an operator’s license. He was also served with two active South Carolina warrants for larceny of a motor vehicle and for failure to stop for blue lights. Dos Santos was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $150,000 secured bond for the MPD charges and a $100,000 secured bond for the South Carolina warrants.
