Special to IFN
This Labor Day Weekend all firefighters, EMTs, police officers, animal control workers, first responders, DSS staff, health department employees, and dispatchers get in free at Zootastic Park in Troutman.
Immediate family (spouse and children) are also free August 31-September 2.
A physical badge must be presented at the time of admission. If you don’t have a metal badge, but still fall into the category of careers listed above, a plastic ID badge will work as well.
Admission includes the walk around and drive-thru portions of the zoo.
Carrots for the giraffes and cups of barnyard feed will be available for purchase for $3 each.
The last admission is at 4 p.m. Zootastic recommends arriving no later than 3 p.m. as it does take about two hours to see the whole park.
Note: Nurses, Teachers and Military are not included in this offer as we honor them on other holidays throughout the year. Not everyone can be free on the same day as it would cause high traffic at the zoo.
Zootastic is located at 448 Pilch Road in Troutman.
