The City of Statesville has officially returned to a D0 Drought Status, according to the N.C. Drought Management Advisory Council (NCDMAC).

D0 Drought Status means the area is considered abnormally dry. This improvement follows the recent update to the North Carolina Drought Advisory, based on data from the U.S. Drought Monitor of North Carolina.

With this change in status, all water use restrictions — both voluntary and mandatory — have been lifted by the City of Statesville.

Residents and businesses can resume their normal water usage without any imposed limitations.

On January 30, city officials implemented a voluntary lawn and landscape irrigation schedule to help manage water use after the NCDMAC determined the area was experiencing moderate drought conditions (D1).
