The Iredell County Board of Commissioners has approved a $235,468 economic incentive for Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing, which is planning to make a $23 million investment in new equipment.

Jenn Bosser, president and CEO of the Iredell County Economic Development Corporation, requested the incentives during Tuesday’s Board of Commissioners meeting.

Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing is planning to purchase the new equipment to support its work in the military, aerospace and energy sectors, Bosser said.

The company, which is located at the Statesville Regional Airport, will receive the economic incentive in the form of a property tax refund over five years if it meets the criteria outlined in the agreement with the county. In addition to the investment in new equipment, the company plans to add up to 20 new positions.

Commissioners applaud improvements to Jennings Park

Commissioners expressed their enthusiasm for the new and improved Jennings Park, and thanked previous board members, residents and taxpayers for supporting the project.

The park, which includes multi-purpose playing fields, ballfields, a walking trail and inclusive playground, has drawn rave reviews from residents since its grand re-opening last month. Pickle ball courts and the playground are set to open by the end of next week.

“Iredell County hit a home run,” Commissioner Brad Stroud said.

Due to the crowds the facility has drawn, County Manager Beth Milton said the county would begin work on an overflow parking area.
