The Iredell County Parks & Recreation Department invites the public to attend the grand re-opening celebration for Jennings Park on Thursday, March 20, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Spanning 74 acres, the new Jennings Park features facilities that support a variety of organized and recreational athletics and outdoor amenities, including four baseball fields with synthetic turf infields and natural grass outfields, along with batting cages. The park also includes four turf multi-purpose fields, a field house with a press box, two concession stands with restroom facilities, an 18-hole disc golf course, an event lawn, and 2.3 miles of walking trails.
“We invite all citizens of Iredell County to come out and join us during this day of celebration for the re-opening of Jennings Park,” said Iredell County Parks and Recreation Director Daniel Leatherman. “The evening will be filled with tours of the facility, opportunities to try out new amenities, program demonstrations, engaging activities, and more!”
Construction is still in progress for the four pickleball courts, a fully inclusive playground, and adventure course amenities. Future events will commemorate their opening later this spring.
The park is located at at 141 Deitz Road, Statesville.
Construction for the project is managed by Edifice Construction, a regional commercial contractor headquartered in Charlotte.
