FROM STAFF REPORTS
The Iredell County Register of Deeds Office has received an exemplary review following an audit of its software records management system.
Columbus, Ohio-based Cott Systems recently notified Register of Deeds Renee Holland of the results of the firm’s audit.
“Based on our findings conducted from the review of operations of your office, we are excited to share that Iredell County Register of Deeds Office exemplifies best-in-class operations, blending cutting-edge technology with streamlined processes to achieve unparalleled efficiency,” Account Executive Ken Theodos wrote in a summary to Holland.
During the audit, Cott checks for data integrity, document indexing and accessibility, image quality, and system functionality. The goal is to verify the accuracy and consistency of the office’s data to ensure vital records, such as land records and other documents,, are complete and accurate. The audit also evaluates how well documents are categorized and how easily they can be retrieved.
Holland said the audit affirms that her team in the Statesville and Mooresville offices “are performing exceptionally” in their duty to manage the county’s vital records.
“Whether you’re searching for a property deed, verifying ownership, conducting historical research, recording your Military Discharge (DD-214), obtaining a marriage license, birth or death certificate, you can have confidence in the accuracy, accessibility and security of your records,” Holland said. “This audit serves as confirmation that the Iredell County Register of Deeds office is not only meeting state standards but exceeding them, which reflects their dedication and commitment to serving the public with excellence.”
Cott Systems also gave the office high marks, calling attention to a “collaborative environment where all team members are empowered” to contribute to shared goals.
“The office is thoughtfully designed to optimize productivity and resources. Clear communication channels and proactive management ensure that tasks are executed flawlessly, while a culture of continuous improvement drives innovation,” Theodos explained. “As a result, the Iredell Register of Deeds office not only meets but exceeds benchmarks, setting a standard for operational excellence and organizational success throughout the state.”
That’s hilarious. Isn’t Cott Systems their service provider for the same data and images they’re auditing? Wouldn’t that be like your firm’s accounting office performing their IRS Audit?
Well done, Renee!! Your leadership has made a real difference to the employees of this department and the citizens served.
