Sheriff Darren Campbell on Wednesday announced that the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is expanding its lake patrol operations to Lake Lookout, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to public safety.
A center console boat, which is being moved from Lake Norman, will increase law enforcement presence on Lake Lookout and improve emergency response times across the lake’s 13 miles of shoreline in Iredell County.
Lake Patrol deputies will now conduct regular patrols at the lake, increasing safety for boaters, residents, and visitors.
“With our lake communities growing, it’s essential to expand our presence and resources to better serve the public,” Campbell said.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen law enforcement on all major waterways around Iredell County, ensuring a faster and more effective response to emergencies.
