Special to IFN
Mooresville Mayor Chris Carney and Dog Mayor Reya made special visits to local schools in celebration of the Town of Mooresville’s birthday and to promote the Mooresville Day Celebration set to take place Saturday, March 22, from 12-4 p.m. in Downtown Mooresville.
During the visits, the mayor spoke about the importance of community involvement and leadership, while students were given the opportunity to ask questions of both Mayor Carney and Reya. Students enjoyed cupcakes, and Reya the dog mayor enjoyed soaking up the belly rubs and plenty of love from her newest fans.
The visited schools included Pine Lake Preparatory, Coddle Creek Elementary, and Park View Elementary.
The visits also served as a special invitation for students and their families to join the 3rd Annual Mooresville Day Festival on Saturday, March 22. This free, family-friendly event will take place in Downtown Mooresville and feature live entertainment, food vendors, stage performances, and activities for all ages.
