Personnel from the West Iredell Volunteer Fire Department responded to a grass and woods fire on Beulah Road about 6 p.m. Wednesday. Stony Point, Monticello, Trinity fire departments, along with the N.C. Forestry Service, Iredell County EMS and Iredell County Rescue Squad were added to the alarm.

Arriving units encountered an acre of brush and woods burning along with a fully involved structure and other threatened structures. Additional brush units were called to the scene along with water tankers. Crews battled the fire for a little over an hour. The N.C. Forestry Service is investigating the cause of the blaze.
