RALEIGH — Sen. Vickie Sawyer was sworn in Wednesday for her fourth full term representing the residents of N.C. Senate District 37.
Sawyer, a Republican, renewed her pledge to champion the values and priorities that define her district and contribute to the strength and prosperity of the Tar Heel State.
“I am deeply honored to serve the hardworking families of Iredell and Mecklenburg counties for another term,” she said. “This is a responsibility that I do not take lightly. I remain committed to working on the issues that matter most to our communities — strengthening education, improving infrastructure, protecting personal freedoms, and creating opportunities for families to thrive.”
Since first being elected to the Senate, Sawyer has established herself as a leader in the N.C. General Assembly, dedicated to conservative principles and a hands-on approach to governance. A champion of local schools and transportation initiatives, she has also been a vocal proponent of integrity in athletics and fiscal accountability.
As she begins this new term, Sawyer emphasized her goals to continue fostering economic growth, expanding workforce development opportunities, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are used wisely. She also reaffirmed her commitment to the American Dream, vowing to support policies that enable individuals and small businesses to succeed.
“We are blessed to live in a state where opportunity abounds,” Sawyer added, “I will continue to fight for the values we hold dear and ensure that our children and grandchildren inherit a North Carolina that is stronger, freer, and full of promise.”
