A 27-year-old man faces two felony charges following a motor vehicle theft investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Bradlee GT Farmer of Trent Road, Statesville, in a news release Wednesday.
Deputy J. Berrier responded to a report of a larceny of a motor vehicle in the 100 block of James Farm Road on Monday, April 7, Campbell said.
After arriving at the residence of the reporting party, Deputy Berrier learned that a Chevrolet pickup truck had been stolen sometime over the weekend, according to the news release. During the investigation, the deputy also learned that a second vehicle on the property had been broken into and rummaged through, Campbell said.
Through investigative work, Deputy Berrier located the stolen vehicle being transported by a wrecker. Further inquiry revealed that the Statesville Police Department had the vehicle towed. Upon contacting the SPD, it was determined that Farmer had been in possession of the stolen truck, which had not been reported stolen at the time, according to the news release.
Farmer had been charged by the SPD with attempted misdemeanor breaking and entering on Sunday, April 6.
Based on witness statements and physical evidence, Deputy Berrier obtained warrants charging Farmer with Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle and Felony Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle. Farmer was arrested and brought before Magistrate T. Thompson, who issued a $15,000 secured bond.
According to the ICSO, Farmer’s criminal history includes the following charges: misdemeanor assault on a female and reckless driving with wanton disregard.
