Roots In The Round will present the 3rd Singers & Songbirds Songwriter Festival on April 3-6 at the historic Old Jail Listening Room in Downtown Statesville.

This four-day celebration of songwriting brings together more than 50 award-winning artists, emerging talent, and passionate music lovers for an immersive experience of storytelling, collaboration, and 16 live performances.

Festival-goers can choose to attend individual sessions, or spend each day immersed in performances, workshops, and special events happening at the same venue.

The Old Jail is located at 203 S. Meeting Street in Statesville. 

Festival Highlights

♦ In The Round Performances: Experience the magic of intimate song-swaps featuring handpicked artists bringing their unique style and stories to the stage. A total of eight rounds, specially curated to create once-in-a-lifetime musical moments. Each round will include 3-4 songwriters, a guest host, and a lead instrumentalist — all on stage together.

♦ Exclusive Showcases & Special Events: From themed songwriter rounds and spotlights to late-night jam sessions and documentary screenings, the festival offers a dynamic lineup of must-see performances.

♦ Songwriting Workshops & Panels: Aspiring songwriters can learn from industry professionals, gaining insight into the craft and business of songwriting.

♦ Brunch & Bluegrass: A festival favorite! Enjoy a delicious brunch from Fresh Chef of Statesville while soaking in live bluegrass from Charlotte-based Crystal Fountains.

♦ Local Flavors & Downtown Charm: With public parking conveniently located next to the venue, attendees can enjoy a full day of music while exploring nearby restaurants, cafés, and shops, making Downtown Statesville a perfect festival destination.

Singers & Songbirds is more than just a festival—it’s a gathering of music lovers, storytellers, and creative spirits in one of North Carolina’s most unique listening spaces in the Old Iredell County Jail (The Iredell Arts Council). Hosted in partnership with The Iredell Arts Council, the festival showcases the best in songwriting while preserving the rich tradition of storytelling through music.
