A Troutman man faces numerous felony charges, including statutory rape of a child, following an investigation by the Troutman Police Department.

The TPD announced the arrest of Arlo Gutierrez, 51, of Susannah Street, Troutman, in a news release Monday.

Police began an investigation on January 21 after receiving a report of sexual abuse of a child, according to the news release. After conducting interviews and gathering evidence, TPD investigators obtained warrants charging Gutierrez with statutory rape of a child, statutory sex offense with a child, and five counts of indecent liberties with a child.

TPD officers, with the assistance of Mooresville Police Department officers, arrested Guiterrez in Mooresville on January 24.

Gutierrez was ordered held without bond and is currently in the custody at the Iredell County Detention Center.
