Personnel from Troutman Fire Rescue, the Troutman Police Department, Iredell County EMS and the N.C. Forestry Service responded to a report of a lumber truck off the road and on fire on Morrison Farm Road off of State Park Road in Troutman about 2:53 p.m. Tuesday.

Arriving units discovered that a large box truck had left the roadway and crashed into a wooded area in Lake Norman State Park. The vehicle was heavily damaged. TPD officers and Troutman firefighters gave aid to the two occupants of the truck until Iredell EMS arrived. Both occupants were transported to the hospital. The TPD is investigating the crash.
