Margie A. Cooper Caldwell, 80, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at her residence.
She was born on February 11, 1939 in Spartanburg, S.C., to the late Walter Ervin Cooper and Lois Tucker Cooper. Mrs. Caldwell attended Ostwalt Baptist Church in Troutman. She enjoyed reading, word searches, Bingo, and helping others. Mrs. Caldwell was always smiling, never met a stranger, and loved her family beyond measure.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Gene Benfield and Lester Caldwell; son, Chris Benfield; brothers, Walter and Johnny Cooper; sisters, Louise Williams, Virginia Cooper, Juanita Inman and Frances Austin; and son-in-law, Randy Keller.
She is survived by her children, Wanda Keller, Elizabeth Hopkins and husband Wesley, Junior Benfield and wife Veda; sisters, Mabel Benton, Betty Richards, Malinda Benfield and Martha Winchester; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 17, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. with a service following at 3 p.m. at Ostwalt Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Morris officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park.
