Barbara Burgess Ford, 78, of Sherrills Ford, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville.

She was born on August 1, 1941, in Wilkes County, N.C., to the late Clarence and Mary Jones Burgess. Mrs. Ford was a member of Olivet Baptist Church in Catawba. She was steadfast in sharing her faith, which was evidenced by her tender heart and constant efforts to seek peace among all those she loved. She loved her family unconditionally, was kind beyond words, and sought humor in all she did.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Hamlet Ford; son, Randall Ford; and sister, Ginger Street.

She is survived by her sons, Gregory Ford and wife Linda, Kelly Ford and wife Bari-Lynn; sister, Lyndia Elswick; brothers, Tony Burgess and Timothy Burgess; grandchildren, Chassidy Ford, Jonathan Ford, Randall Ford, Bailey Ford, Chelsea Talbert, and Casey Stewart; and great grandchildren, Madilyn, Cody, and Waylon Ford, Sadie Stewart, and Kale Talbert.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 29, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a service following at 12:30 p.m. at Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Rumage officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
