Hazel Coggins McKay, 86, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.

She was born on April 13, 1934, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late J.C. and Margaret Miller Coggins. Mrs. McKay enjoyed gardening, spending time on her front porch, country music, and watching Westerns and soap operas. She was a great cook and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Bill” Fisher McKay; son, Thomas Wayne McKay; six brothers; four sisters; and grandson, Randy Wayne Moore.

She is survived by her children, Linda Carranco and Gary McKay; grandchildren, Nikki Moore and Tracy Smith (Alex); great grandchildren, Meredith James (Caleb), Samantha Kennerly, Bobby Josey, Michael Josey, Garrett Hinson and Nick Hinson; and great-great grandson, Mac James.

Services will be private.
