John Allen McMurray Sr., 51, of Statesville, N.C., died Saturday August 29, 2020, at his residence. John was born July 22, 1969, in Long Beach, Calif., the son of the late Mack and Sheena (Roberts) McMurray.

John attended South Iredell High School. He worked as a truck driver until he became disabled.

Survivors include sons Steven McMurray and Shawn McMurray, both of Seagrove, N.C., and John McMurray Jr. of Statesville, N.C.; daughter, Samantha McMurray of Hartsville, S.C.; sister, Johnell Hatley (Jay) of Asheboro, N.C.; and grandchildren Brayden and Jamie McMurray.
