Lucille Grant Jenkins, 77, of Statesville, N.C., died Friday, January 3, 2020, at the Gordon Hospice House.
She was born in Iredell County on February 6, 1942, to the late John Bristol Grant and Lena Dishmon Grant. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Albert Jenkins; two sons, David Wayne Jenkins and Mike Jenkins; a sister; Mildred Jenkins, a granddaughter, Heather Freeze; and Heather’s husband, Allen Freeze.

Lucille was a member of Houston Road Baptist Church in Troutman and was retired from Leonards. She enjoyed reading, sewing and especially her church activities.

Survivors include two daughters, Robin Adkins (Darren) and Teresa Kay Sigmon (Glenn); a sister; Carolyn Hall (David), all of Statesville; a brother, John Grant (Janice) of Jefferson, N.C., a daughter-in-law, Lynne Jenkins; a brother-in-law, Robert Jenkins; six grandchildren, Amanda Fisher (Josh), Crystal Ladd (Garry), Staff Sergeant Christopher Bolen (Emily), Lieutenant Justin Adkins (Rachel), April Jenkins, and David Jenkins; and five great-grandchildren; Greyson Fisher, Garrett Fisher, Lane Freeze, Caleb Ladd and Piper Ladd.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Bright Light Baptist Church with Pastor Jayson Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening, January 7, 2020, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home.
