Martha Lucille Teeter Meredith, 97, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C.

She was born on January 18, 1923, in Rowan County, N.C., to the late Marshall and Emily Walter Teeter. Mrs. Meredith was a U.S. Marine veteran serving at Arlington and Cherry Point. She was a member of Prospect Presbyterian Church in Mooresville. She loved her church, taught Sunday School for many years, and was an active member of her church circle. Mrs. Meredith was very involved in her family’s life, taking care of her siblings, her husband, and her children. She loved working on the farm, was a very good cook, and no one left her house hungry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JD Meredith; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Meredith; sisters, Irene Teeter, Mary Teeter, Francis Boyd, and Shelton Fritz; and brothers, John, Bill, Willis, Donald, and James Teeter.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry T. Meredith and Donald M. Meredith; and grandson, Jared Dalton Meredith.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 7, at Prospect Presbyterian Church with Rev. Will Gipes officiating.
