Mrs. Mary Magdalene “Maggie” Mash, 74, of Statesville, N.C., went to be with the Father on Saturday, September 26, 2020, peacefully with her family. Mrs. Mash was born in Tazewell County, Va., on October 23, 1945, to the late Harry Eugene Bowers Sr. and Ellen Louise Bowers Mullins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harry Eugene Bowers Jr.; three great grandchildren, Lyric and Alexis Olson and Ahavah Moore.
On January 26, 1980, she married Harold Curtis Mash Sr. and together they have eight children, Katherine Gilreath (husband Gregg), Cynthia Hutchins (husband Dennis), Harold C. Mash Jr. (wife Elizabeth), Nelson Mash (wife Nancy), Robert Mash (wife Brenda), Shelby Bullard (husband Johnny), Benita Rice (husband Brian), and David Mash (wife Yvette); along with 19 grandchildren, Harold C. Mash III, Jeremiah Moore (wife Brittany), Zachary Mash, Jennifer Hobbs (husband Joshua), Hope Grainger (husband Doug), Joel Anderson (wife Sabrina), Ryan Woodie (wife Mindy), Samuel Mash (wife Shelby), Lara Meador (husband Eli), Joseph Woodie, Stephanie Rice (fiancée Michael Hudnall), Rachel Mash, Wesley Grainger, Konnor Grainger, Angelia Weston (husband Stephen), Aaron Mash (wife Jasmine), Marie Mash, Hunter Mash (wife Hailey), and Hadassah Bullard; and 24 great grandchildren, Olivia Grainger, Matthew Woodie, Judah Moore, Ammi Moore, Adilynn Woodie, Bella Grainger, Torah Moore, Emma Grace Woodie, Remmington “Remi” Mash, Valithagra Weston, Asher Moore, Gracie Mash, Godric Weston, Warrick Mash, Isaac Woodie, Haley, Jaden Torosian, Lily Bobabilla , James Mash, Elijah Olson, Lakon Headly, Harmony Olson, Muziq Olsen, Trinity Olsen, and Haley. Mrs. Mash is also survived by one sister, Clara Mabe of Wilkesboro, N.C.; 10 nephews; seven nieces; and many great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday at Eagles Refuge Ministries at 109 Eagles Refuge Drive, Statesville, N.C., for an outside service with Pastor Jeremiah Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. prior at Eagles Refuge Ministries. Burial will follow. Pallbearers will be the grandsons Joel Anderson, Ryan Woodie, Joseph Woodie, Aaron Mash, Doug Grainger and Joshua Hobbs. Honorary Pallbearers Johnny Bullard and Carlos Huerta.
Mrs. Mash owned and operated two businesses in Statesville Rainbow Janitorial Service and Sisters Consignment Shoppe.
The family will be gathering at the home of Mrs. Mash at 109 Eagles Refuge Drive, Statesville, during the week prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for Eagles Refuge Ministries Building Fund, 109 Eagles Refuge Drive, Statesville, NC 28625.
