Penny Denise Fowler Styers, 60, of Statesville, N.C., died Sunday, May 31, 2020, at Atrium Heath-University in Charlotte. She was born in Alexander County to the late James Danny Fowler and Mary Moretz Williamson on December 12, 1959.

Penny was a sassy lady and spoke her mind, which endeared her to all who knew her. She loved reading her Bible and watching Netflix. More than anything she loved her children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Melvin Patterson; a son, Michael Styers; a daughter, Crystal Styers; grandchildren, Tamaya Silva (Jacob), Tristen Styers, and Melyssa Styers; a great-grandson, Smokey Silva; the father of her children and friend, Ralph Styers; a brother, Sam Fowler; and sisters, Wanda Chapman, Kathy Myers and Gloria Brooks.

A Private Memorial Service will be held.
