Sallie Cartner Comer, 84, of Statesville, N.C., died Monday, March 16, 2020, at her residence.

She was born in Davie County on January 25, 1936, to the late Hugh M. Cartner and Mae Stroud Cartner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Comer.

Sallie and Clarence had been owner/operators of their own chicken farm. Sallie was a member of Society Baptist Church. She loved gardening, cooking, sitting outside and enjoying her flowers, attending activities with the Young at Heart Group, and especially spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Chuck Comer (Vicky); a daughter, Linda Bledsoe (Mark); three grandchildren, Samantha Houston (Ryan), Sarah Bledsoe, and John Bledsoe; and one great-grandchild, Damien Briceno, all of Statesville; and a brother; Robert Cartner (Rosemary) of Fayetteville.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 22, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Society Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
