Tony “Rex” Stout, 68 of Hiddenite, N.C., passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C., after an extended illness. He was born Tuesday, January 8, 1952, in Iredell County, to Dorothy Ailene Stout Head of Statesville.

Rex was of the Baptist faith.

Rex was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Sterling Stout.

In addition to his mother, Rex is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathy Thompson Stout of the home; two sons, Tony Mark Stout of Asheville and Paul James Stout (Sarah) of Taylorsville; one sister, Janie Head Bustle (Junior) of Statesville; and one grandson, Landon James Stout.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date.
