Mr. Tyson Lashawn Clark was born in Iredell County, N.C., on October 11, 1973, and was the son of the late Javan Egusta Brandon and Brenda Clark Jordan. He departed this life on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Minnie Pearl Clark; great grandmother, Beaulah Bradshaw; an uncle, George (Teedie) Washington Brandon; and an aunt, Hattie Mae Brandon.
Tyson attended South Iredell High School, where he graduated in 1992. He grew up in the Shinnsville community, where he attended Shinnsville United Church of Christ at an early age. Tyson will truly be missed.
Tyson leaves to cherish the memories of his life two sisters, Tonya Clark of Mooresville and Tomika Clark (Michael Privette) of Statesville; two brothers, Jeremy (Keisha) Harris of Statesville and Tyronne Brandon of Statesville; uncles, Calvin Clark of Statesville, John Edward (Joanne) Wilson of Kannapolis, and Willie Brandon of Winston-Salem; children he reared, Kyla Strickland, Davon Strickland and Aylah McDonald of the home; grandchildren, Rileigh, Lily, McKinnie, King, Cam, and Ivey; special cousins; Tyrone Derrick Clark, Gregory Wilson, and Trece Harris; a special friend, Verlencia McDonald of the home; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 17, 2020, at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary, Statesville, at 2 p.m., with Evangelist Greta Angle doing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the Belmont cemetery.

There will be no public visitation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home, along with other funeral homes across the country, has been issued a mandate to limit the number of family and/or friends at funeral services. You can only enter the funeral with a funeral pass, which will be given to the family.
General viewing will from 2 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2020, and resume on Friday, July 17, 2020, from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.
