William “Bill” Edward Morgan, 73, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. Born November 22, 1946, in Greensboro, N.C., he was a son of the late Rufus and Myrtle Roberts Morgan.
Mr. Morgan was a graduate of Charles D. Owen High School in Black Mountain, N.C., and AB Tech in Asheville, N.C. A longtime member of Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Mooresville, Bill ran the church BBQ for many years and was a past president of the Methodist Men. Bill worked at prominent Buick dealerships in the area and was beloved by his customers over a period of 45 years. He had a passion for being on Lake Norman with his family, and he had a broad knowledge and interest in classic cars.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Weeber Morgan; son, Michael Morgan; and brothers, James Morgan of Asheville and Gary Morgan of Black Mountain.
Viewing only will be at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 27, from 12 to 2 p.m. A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, at Williamson’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Mooresville.
