Zona Jean Karriker passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at the age of 81.

She was born in Macon County, N.C., on October 23, 1938, to the late Ralph and Violet Frady Douthit.

Ms. Karriker enjoyed watching ACC Basketball. Her family was her life and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed.

She was also predeceased by a son, Danny Marley; a granddaughter, Miranda Marley; and two brothers, Bob and Ed Douthit.

Ms. Karriker is survived by her sons, Michael Marley (Rita) and Richard Marley; daughter, Tamara Marley; her sister, Ann Tilley (Ray); brothers Jack (Linda) and Arnold Douthit (Diane); her grandchildren, Richard Marley Jr., Heidi Sargent (Kenny), Madison Marley, Taylor Fincannon, and Alex Fincannon; great-grandchildren, Dresden Marley, Edison Sargent, Isaac Sargent, and Ronin Fincannon.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Eddie Graham and Rev. Arnold Douthit officiating. Burial will follow immediately after at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
