Barbara Ann Knox Johnson, 82, of Statesville, N.C., died Tuesday, May 18, 2021. She was born in Iredell County on October 2, 1938, to the late Theophilus “Runt” Knox and Annabelle Hager Knox. She was also preceded in death by her husband James “JB” Johnson.
Barbara was a graduate of Cool Spring High School and a lifelong member of Fifth Creek Presbyterian Church. She was co-owner of Johnson Jersey Farm and had worked at Walmart for more than 25 years. She was an accomplished amateur photographer, having won many blue ribbons at the Iredell County Fair with her photographs. She loved working in her flower garden. Barbara always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger. It seemed no matter where she went, she saw someone she knew. She loved telling stories and making people laugh.

Janvrin (Buddy); a sister, Shirley Steele (Don); five grandchildren, Mark Majors (Christy), Joshua Janvrin (Katie), Todd Johnson, Katherine Janvrin, and Jon Johnson; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Fifth Creek Presbyterian Church with Pastor William Bates.
Memorials may be given to Fifth Creek Presbyterian Church, 1547 Mocksville Highway, Statesville, NC 28677. Online condolences may be left at www.nicholsonfunerals.com.
