Mr. Dennis Earl Gardner, 55, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on June 3, 1966, and was the son of the late William Allen Gardner and Lillie Golden Mattocks. He departed this life on Thursday, November 9, 2021, at his residence.
He was a resident of the Pamlico County community and was employed with Dalmier Trucking Company as a truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his biological father, James Allen Staten. Dennis loved his family and friends and was always willing to help them. His hobbies were fishing and his grandkids, and he was always full of jokes and laughter. He will always be in our minds and forever in our hearts.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his life his wife, Valda Lynn Gardner of Vance, N.C.; three daughters, Denisha Andrews, (Notrae Andrews) of New Bern, N.C., Kimaye Moore and I’Myra Gardner of Charlotte, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Anthonique Cooper; two sons, Dennis Moore and QwaDerrick Moore of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Madeline Gardner of Arapahoe, N.C., Shon Mattocks of Raleigh, N.C., Gwen Staten of Wilmington, N.C., and Angela King of New Bern, N.C.; five grandchildren, Ziayre Miller, Zaria Andrewa, Zy’aire Baker, Nailah Ussery, and Duraysia Adamson; four aunts, Doris Richardson of New Bern, Mabel Borden of Pamlico, Carol Wallace of New Bern, and Shirley Williams of New Bern; two uncles, Earnest Richardson and Gus Williams; and a host of neices, nephewa, cousins, and special friends. Dennis will truly be missed.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
