Dimple Ruth Singletary Hunter, daughter of the late Issac Singletary and Mary Frances Loftin Singletary, was born May 7, 1927. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at her residence.
She was married to Jason Burley Hunter, who preceded her in death June 3, 1982. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Pelma Lyons and Mary Jolee Scott; two daughters, Barbara Hunter Saunders and Linda Faye Hunter; and two grandchildren, Faye Michelle Hunter and Richard Antoine Cassell.
She was a lifelong member of Holsey Memorial CME Church, where she served on the stewardess board. She graduated from high school and retired from Iredell Memorial Hospital. Dimple loved flowers and working in her yard.
Those left to cherish her memories are one daughter, Pamela Michelle Hunter, whom she lived with; grandchildren, Burley Hunter (Frieda) of Statesville, Paul Hunter (Viki) of Stony Point, Patricia Smyre (Cedric) of Statesville, and Layla Michelle Hunter of the home; and ten great grandchildren, Miquattia Hunter Strickland(Reggie), Ashleigh Hunter, Justin Mauney(Alesha), Jauron Hunter, Alec Cassell, Brandon Hunter, Dimple Jackson, Aaron Hunter, Tia Hunter and Kameron Jackson. Eight great great grandchildren Davion, Justin, Arrianna, McKhayla Mauney, Caiden Stickland, Grayson Hunter, and Aubree Howell; two nephews, Donald Scott (Shirley) of Charlotte, N.C., and John Scott (Jackie) of Statesville; three nieces, Teresa Scott of Salisbury, N.C., and Frances Scott, and Gloria Scott of Georgia; as well as a special cousin, Rozetta Daniels; and a host of cousins and church members.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 1:30 p.m at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary, Statesville, N.C. Reverend Barbara McCollum will officiate with burial to follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
