Don Gary Dishmon, 77, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Friday, July 16, 2021. Born on June 22, 1944, he was the son of the late Elam E. Dishmon and Ada McDaniels Dishmon.

Mr. Dishmon was a member of Monticello Baptist Church, where he had a passion for Children’s Church. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, eating and gardening. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was always full of life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dot Bridges.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Glenda S. Dishmon; his daughters, Jackie Burgess (James) and Donna Swicegood; grandchildren, Kali Davidson, Ethan Burgess (Kate) and Adrianna Allen (Shawn); great-grandchildren, Alexia, Rylie, Remie, Madison and Tyler; sister, Jill Speece; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021, at Monticello Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. at Monticello Baptist Church with Pastor Jacob Scott officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery.
