Donald Earlie Eades, 81, of Catawba, N.C., passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, at his residence. Born in Catawba County on October 25, 1939, he was the son of the late Robert Jefferson Eades and Effie Brown Eades.

After graduation from Bandy High School in 1958, Donald served six years in the U.S. Army National Guard. He retired from Duke Energy Marshall Steam Plant after 28 years of service.

Donald married Doris Lowrance on October 9, 1965. They shared 55 years together at the time of his passing.

He was a member of Olivet Baptist Church, where he served on the Cemetery Committee. Donald was a man who enjoyed serving in the background, never needing recognition for his deeds.

In addition to his wife Doris, Donald is also survived by two sons, David Eades and Darin Eades and wife Danielle; and two grandchildren, Shelby Eades and Ransom Eades. He is also survived by one sister, Josephine Wright.

The family will speak to friends Tuesday, April 20, 2021, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. Matt Rummage officiating.
