J.D. Brown Jr., 83, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021. He was born on May 3, 1937, in Mooresville, N.C., to the late J.D. Brown and Annie Hucks Brown.

Mr. Brown was retired from the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Boan Brown; daughter, Lezlie Keifer; sisters, Barbara “Bobbie” Ervin and Dorothy “Dot” Sexton; brothers, Ralph “Bud” Brown and David Brown.

He is survived by children, Dewayne Brown (Colleen), and Denise “Denny” Dawn Dickie; granddaughter, Nicole “Nikki” Peters; sisters, Frances Sipes, and Judy Cooke (Larry); and sister-in-law, Sheila Brown.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 15, from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with a graveside service following at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Memorial Park, Mooresville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broad Street United Methodist Church, 355 S Broad Street, Mooresville, NC 28115.
