Jack Howard Massey, 84, of Stony Point, N.C., passed away in his home on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.

Jack was born in Iredell County on November 23, 1936, to the late Hoyle Massey and Mary Massey. He spent his life as a “jack of all trades” with woodworking being his greatest joy. Jack had many employment journeys; however, his primary work was as a self-employed contractor. He was a faithful member of Command Baptist Church, devoting his life to our Lord.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Massey, and his second wife, Hazel Massey; two brothers, Gary “Bill” Massey and Allen Massey (Nancy); and two sisters-in-law, Mary
Massey (Bill) and Becky Massey (Buck).

Jack is survived by his brother, Bobby “Buck” Massey; sister in-law, Nancy Massey (Allen); and his loving wife of 18 years, Laurieann Elizabeth Rafferty Massey. Also surviving are his daughters, Mary Jacqueline Massey Roark, Kathy Alexander (Billy Joe), Laurie Ann Hunter (Chris), Christina Stanton Drum (Michael), and Kimberly Marie Stanton; and his sons, Larry “Randy” Massey and Jared Brooks (Adrian). He was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at Command Baptist Church, 658 Island Ford Road, Statesville NC 28625, by Rev. Tony Fox. Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 2 p.m. with visitation being held prior to the funeral at 1 p.m. Jack’s final resting place will follow the services at the church cemetery.
