Jacob Overby III, 65, of 402 Green Street, Statesville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021. He was born in Iredell County on June 6, 1956, and was the son of the late Jacob Burton Overby II and Louise Starks Browner.

He was a high school graduate and served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.

He leaves to remember and celebrate his life two daughters, Natera Overby and LaToya Overby, both of Statesville; one brother, William J. Overby of Raleigh; one sister, Barbara Louise Overby; two grandchildren, Tiana White and Torrey Miller Jr.; one nephew, William J. Overby II; special cousins, Cynthia Carson and Family and Shaun Davis; and a host of other relatives, the Green Street Neighbors, the Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church Family, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 11 a.m. at The Belmont Cemetery. Rev. Dr. J. C. White will officiate and Rev. Dr. Gregory K. Moss will eulogize. Burial will follow with full military rites.
