James Allen Kirchner, 65, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021. He was born on May 27, 1955, in Elmhurst, Ill., to Earl Kirchner and the late Bonnie Foret.
He was a devout Christian, and he loved God and his church. He had a quirky sense of humor, and he loved music, especially bluegrass and the band, Grateful Dead. He was an avid amateur photographer, and he enjoyed hiking and traveling. He loved to cook and enjoyed vanilla ice cream.
Mostly he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by sister, Dawn Northern.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Karen Lawn Kirchner; children, Gabe Kirchner (Jennifer), Jacob Kirchner (Angela), Josh Kirchner (Deb), and Cory Kirchner; sister, Cynthia Beard (Mike); grandchildren, Ariana, Ariston, Dylan, Nora, Evan, and Hailey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Lighthouse Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Dr. David Bucky Hunsicker officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at the church.
