James Curtis Nizet, 58, of Statesville, N.C., died Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, N.Y., on July 8, 1963, to William Nizet and Vivian Craig Nizet.

James was employed by Sealed Air and had served in the Army Reserve. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, sight-seeing, riding motorcycles, and all things historical. He especially loved taking the grandkids to historical sites.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Doreen Davis Nizet; a son, Zachary Nizet (Davi); two daughters, Rachel Spraker (Joshua) and Christina Smida (Joseph); four grandchildren, Kameryn and Aleeah Spraker, Joseph Smida, and Korah Nizet. Also surviving are two brothers, John Nizet and Larry Williams (Chris), and a sister, Rosemary Brewer (Michael).

There will be no services held at this time.
