DCC (SW) James E. Gandy, 74, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on December 3, 2021. James is the son of the late Charles Gandy and Catherine Baca.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Vickie Roberts Gandy of Statesville; two daughters, Mary Hauto (Gabriel) of Goose Creek, S.C., and Malinda Addington (Larry) of Texas; three sons, CSM James T. Gandy (Dawn) of Goose Creek, S.C., Michael A. Gandy (Lori) of Statesville, N.C., and Charles “Chris” Gandy of Statesville, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

James was an honored 24-year retired veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of The New Beginning Pentecostal Holiness Church, and he loved to spend time with his large family.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. military honors funeral service with Rev. Timothy Fluke officiating at The New Beginning Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the VA hospital in Salisbury, N.C.
