Janet Dunlap Perry, 75, of Mooresville, N.C., departed this world for heaven on October 23, 2021. Born September 1, 1946, in Norfolk, Va., she was the daughter of the late James Benjamin Dunlap and Mildred Justice Dunlap. Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Diana Sweezy.
Family was the most important thing in her life. Her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren made her life full. The beach and Christmas time were a close second. July 4th family vacations at Ocean Lakes Family Campground and decorating for Christmas were her happiest moments.
Janet graduated from Mooresville High School. She worked as a Cosmetologist and Preschool Teacher for several years. But she spent the majority of her life as a homemaker while volunteering in her children’s schools.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Perry; and children Jamala Allen, Stephanie McBride (Chris), and Penny Perry; grandchildren Savannah Wade (Austin), Summer Carpenter, Ty McBride (Madison), Zoe Carpenter, Abby Carpenter, Brandon Calderon and Nicole Nolasco; and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House of Mooresville.
