Ms. Janice Delorse Ellison was born in Iredell County on July 9, 1961, and was the daughter of the late Rosa Chambers Ellison and Fred Ellison. She departed this life on Monday, July 27, 2021, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ebony Redmon; her sister, Sandra Gregory; her brothers, Fred Lee Ellison Jr. and Carl Ellison; grandmothers, Ruby Reid and Leana Ellison; aunts, Mildred Daniels and Emmaline Shellar; one uncle, Eddie Lee Ellison; and one nephew, Micheal Ellison.

She was a high school graduate of Iredell-Statesville Schools. She worked as a loader at Lowe’s Distribution Center. She was a dedicated hard worker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and friend.

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life two children, Fredia “Star” (Terry Rankin Jr.) Ellison and Micheal “Bon” Ellison, both of Statesville; grandchildren, Kameesha Maddox, Yuri Singletary, Kayshia Torrence, Bradley Torrence, Kelira Carr and Brandis Imes Jr.; three sisters, Gwen Bennett, Laverne (Gene) Garner and Jackie (Malcolm) Dorty; one uncle, Jamie William (Donna) Ellison; nieces and nephews, Yolanda Murdock, Shenitra (Raymond) Turner, Tiffany (B.J) Raines, Jeanette Garner, David “Bronzie” Ellison, Tommy “Calvin” Gregory Jr. and Deshaun (Tiny) Frazier; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021, at Belmont Cemetery, Greenbriar Road, Statesville, N.C.
