Jennie Lee Moore Clontz, 86, of Troutman, N.C., passed away at her home on Thursday, December 9, 2021.
Born in Mooresville, N.C., to the late Fred Lee and Ella Overcash Moore, she was a graduate of Troutman High School in 1953 and a lifelong Iredell County resident. A member of Wesley Memorial UMC, Jennie spent her life as an active member of the Methodist faith and graciously served her congregations with her food, working on numerous committees, fundraising events, singing in the choir and later enjoyed traveling and fellowship with the church senior group.
Jennie and her late husband, Frank Clontz, owned and operated Quality Aluminum Works in Troutman for over 35 years. She also served as a town council alderman.
A loving neighbor, friend, wife, mother, and grandmother, Jennie was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Susan Clontz Ehret; brother; Pete Moore; and sister; Evelyn Moore Pope.
Jennie is survived by her son, James “Jamie” Clontz (Patty); grandchildren; Robert Ehret, Jeremy Ehret (Rebecca), Megan Clontz Harrell (David), and Katelyn Clontz Hill (Tyler); great-grandchildren, Gavin Ehret, Cole Ehret, Zoe and Chase Harrell; and her dear friend, Mrs. Carolyn Mills, whom she loved as family.
A public lie-in-state will be held on Wednesday, December 15, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville. A private family graveside will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memoriam to Hospice of Iredell County or Wesley Memorial UMC.
