Judy Dianne Sherrill Speight, 69, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at her residence. Born in Iredell County on January 26, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Russell Sherrill and Carrie Kurley Sherrill Muse.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Marion Earl Speight, who passed away on February 13, 2009; one daughter, Shannon D. Speight; and one sister, Linda Sherrill Smith.

Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She had a heart of gold, was always willing to help others, and she was loved by all who knew her. She loved traveling and taking cruises with her late husband, Earl. She was always thrilled to travel and visit with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Natalie (Keith) Payne, Wendy (Curt) Graham and Coty Speight; grandchildren, Brooke, Anna, Hayden, Kayde, Evan, Brody and Bayleigh; one great-grandchild, Isaac; and two brothers, Garry Sherrill and Johnny Sherrill.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. John Isaac III officiating. The family will speak to friends following the service.

Burial will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 9 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery.

Service as pallbearers will be Hayden Speight, Willie Isaac, J.T. Smith, Shane Sherrill, Hartman Smith and Mitchell Smith.
